Tiffany’s Full Story…

I was exposed to exploration at an early age.. flipping through the pages of National Geographic and imagining myself as the photographer behind the image.

My visual eye took a detour, working my way into the fashion industry as a merchandiser. One fold after another, the need for something fulfilling in my life began to surface. Inspired by those yellow pages as a young girl, I quit my job and went back to school for photography.

It was around that time I picked up the sport of canyoneering, caving, and rock climbing. I devoted over 8 years on the road building the experience to navigate my camera in the most unforgiving environments. I take pride in my ability to rig anywhere for the perfect shot.

Soon after, I joined the United States Deep-Caving Team, documenting anything from alpine to deep underground systems. During these trips our team map unexplored passages and assist scientists by carrying out research to study underground formations/ biology. The images I produce play a large role in funding for future exploration as well as documentation for education and research.

Although I did not land in National Geographic as a photographer, my collaboration with Proyecto Espeleologico Sistema Huautla placed me on one of Nat Geo’s featured articles as a caver.

Eventually my travels on the road brought me to Red River Gorge, Kentucky. I Immediately fell in love with the community, forest, rock climbing, trails, and more thus calling it home.

Now I live out of my converted van and travel as a climber and photographer. You can find me photographing outdoor recreation in the gorge during peak seasons with my sidekick, Kika (chihuahua rescued from El Salto, Mexico).
